Day 2: Oktoberfest Parades

Oktoberfest is so big it needs two parades.

On opening Saturday is the Brewers Parade.  At 10:45 am, the tent owners and breweries march from the center of Munich to the Theresienwiese.  The Münchner Kindl, the city's mascot leads the parade into the festival grounds before the ceremonial first keg tapping.

The next day at 10 am begins the Hunters and Rifleman's Parade.  This annual event began in 1835 to mark the 25th anniversary of the King's marriage and the first Oktoberfest.  Over 9,000 costumed participants march the parade route into the Wiesn.

While we don't have a parade at the Bavarian Bierhaus (yet), perhaps you can parade down the corridor connecting us to the Opry Mills Mall and see the world's longest Bier mural.

Prost!
